Supergirl TV Show

Supergirl TV Show

A friend of mine told me the other day that a Supergirl TV show was in the making and I can’t believe I didn’t know anything about it!! I did some research and here’s everything I could find!

The series will probably air next year on CBS and it will follow the adventures of a 20-something year old Kara Zor-El who decides to embrace her powers and become a warrior. This will offer some modern superhero drama like other DC Comics shows such as Arrow and more recently The FlashContinue reading

Top 10 Comics that need a Movie + Actors who should star in them

Soulfire - Michael Turner

There are lots of great comic books that haven’t been adapted into movies yet that I would really like to see in the big screen. Now the superheroes are the biggest Hollywood money makers, but there’re a bunch of indie comics that are awesome too and of course some superheroes that haven’t been on screen yet.

I love strong, powerful and fearless women, those are my favorite characters and I love when they are leading characters in comic books. I also love when superheroes are funny and have a good personality like Spider-ManContinue reading

Top 10 Female Comic Book Villains

Harley & Ivy - J. Scott Campbell

One of the first posts I ever posted on this blog was a Top 10 list of female heroes from my favorite comics. (Check it out here!)

The truth is that I normally tend to like more the villains than the heroes and I don’t know why did it take me so long to do a list with my favorite ones. This happens to me not only reading comics, in movies and especially TV shows I always like the villains more than the heroes, my friends always tell me that if we lived in a comic book or a fantasy show I would be a villain, haha.

Top 10 Female Comic Book Heroes

As you can see I love making up lists of anything and if you get to know me you’d see I’m a little obsessed with listing everything. I love reading comic books and I wanted to make my first post on the comics section with a list of my favorite female comic book heroes.

Keep in mind this is based on my personal taste only and we might disagree in some of them. For this list I only used heroes and not villains so don’t freak out if you don’t see Catwoman or Mystique on this list!! I’m planning a female villains list for another post.

Also I’m only using characters originally created for the comic book industry, so no Lara Croft or Buffy here!

So here are my favorite female heroes:

10.Storm (X-Men)

I’d like to start this list with Storm, because she’s one of my favorite X-Men. She’s got great powers and she’s a kick-ass woman. I also like her movie version, I think Halle Berry really did justice to her.

9. Supergirl

The Supergirl saga from Superman/Batman by Michael Turner is one of my favorite stories of the DC Universe. I like that they recreated her origins for a new and younger fan base and I really loved the result.

8. Kiani (Fathom)

As you can imagine I love Michael Turner, he’s my favorite comic book artist and I miss him so much. He created this amazing underwater world for his Fathom series and Kiani is one of my favorite characters. She’s a badass underwater creature that you should’t mess around with.

7. Abbey Chase (Danger Girl)

Another of my favorite comic book artist is J. Scott Campbell and I love Danger Girl! I love all the characters of this amazing story, but Abbey is just the best. I love her sultry attitude and her looks, plus she’s got a good sense of humor! What else could you ask for?

6. Rogue (X-Men)

Ok, Rogue has always been my favorite girl from X-Men, specially in the 90s cartoon TV show! But they really messed up in the movies!! C’mon, I don’t have anything against Anna Paquin, but I just didn’t like the way she was portrayed in the movie franchise.

Rogue2

5. Sara Pezzini (Witchblade)

Another Michael Turner creation and what an amazing woman Sara Pezzini is!! Although I stopped reading the series a few years ago, I’ve always loved Witchblade. It wasn’t only the story or the amazing art by Turner and others after him, this series just got something special and I love it!

4. Wonder Woman

Who doesn’t love Wonder Woman? She’s the supreme leader of the amazons and is the most important female character in the DC Universe. She has great powers, strength a magic bow and an invisible plane!! She just rocks!

3. Jean Grey/Phoenix  (X-Men)

Since the disappointment with Rogue after the X-Men movies, I had to choose a new favorite girl from the team! I didn’t only choose one, I chose two! The second one is Jean Grey. I love her as a normal mutant with her telekinetic powers, but I love her even more when she becomes the Phoenix, especially Dark Phoenix, she’s just the most powerful creature in the whole Universe. Impressive!

2. Emma Frost (X-Men)

Well, and here is my ultimate favorite X-Men girl! I love Emma Frost! The White Queen! She’s got some amazing telepathic powers and she can change her skin into diamond. She’s just awesome! I also love her sultry personality and her sense of fashion. She’s just perfect!

1. Aspen Matthews (Fathom)

And of course my number 1 comic book female character has to be Aspen Matthews!! She’s a kick-ass marine biologist who discovers that she comes from an underwater species and has the ability to manipulate water. She almost causes the end of the human race, but she ended up saving us! She’s just amazing! Thanks Michael Turner for creating characters and stories like this, I miss you! RIP
