Suicide Squad Movie Details

Suicide Squad

A few months ago Warner Bros revealed their DC Comics movie schedule. I didn’t report it because I think they’re just copying Marvel and DC movies, except Christopher Nolan‘s Batman trilogy, are not very good. One of the movies that caught my attention though was the Suicide Squad movie, planned for Summer 2016.

Now they’ve revealed the cast for the movie and you won’t believe who’s in!! The movie will be filled with A List stars and it looks really good. I’ve never read any comics, but the storyline is very interesting. For those of you who don’t know what the Suicide Squad is, it’s a group of villains hired by the US Government to work for them so they have prison privileges or their sentences reduced. Check out the cast below!  Continue reading

Top 10 Female Comic Book Villains

Harley & Ivy - J. Scott Campbell

One of the first posts I ever posted on this blog was a Top 10 list of female heroes from my favorite comics. (Check it out here!)

The truth is that I normally tend to like more the villains than the heroes and I don’t know why did it take me so long to do a list with my favorite ones. This happens to me not only reading comics, in movies and especially TV shows I always like the villains more than the heroes, my friends always tell me that if we lived in a comic book or a fantasy show I would be a villain, haha.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past Review

The wait is finally over!! Today was the premiere of X-Men Days Of Future Past here in Spain and I had to see it as soon as possible. I’ve been waiting for this movie since the storyline of the Days Of Future Past comics was announced. It was supposed to be released May 25th in the world premiere of the movie, but it was delayed until today so I’ve been waiting longer than others.

Lets start saying that X-Men are my favorite Marvel heroes so this movie is a very big deal for me. I did notice that the movie was a rectification of all the mistakes they made with The Last Stand and First Class. Thank you Bryan Singer for saving and reviving this franchise that, in my opinion, died along with all the main characters in the last installment of the original X-Men trilogy.

Top 10 Wardrobe Essentials

There are some garments that are vital and must be in everyone’s closet. I live in Gran Canaria (Canary Islands/Spain) and here we always have a wonderful weather, though this Winter has been a little bit colder. We normally have Summer weather all year long, so my essentials are based on this amazing weather we are lucky to have.

So here are my Top 10 most important clothing pieces and the ones I use the most!

10. Dr. Martens Boots

I got my first pair of Dr. Martens this Christmas and since then I have used them almost all the time! I wear them at least twice a week with my skinny jeans and I think they’re a must have for everyone! I have them in Cherry Red, but I like them in all the colors they come!

9. Woodcutter Jacket

I wear this kind of jacket every time it gets too cold! Mine is a vintage jacket from my grandpa and he bought it in London like 30 years ago. I love it and this Winter has been very useful! I don’t know if “Woodcutter Jacket” is the correct term, but it’s how we call it in Spain.

8. Denim Shirt

I wear a denim shirt with everything and for any occasion! Mine is from H&M and it’s a light denim shirt that I use a lot. I think everyone needs one of these!

7. Skinny Jeans

I normally wear shorts during the day because of the good weather we have, but when I don’t I always wear my skinny jeans. I also wear them at night because it’s colder and you can’t wear shorts to clubs! I normally combine them with my Dr. Martens or with Converse.

6. Squared Shirts

I’ve got lots of these! I wear them every time I go out for dinner or to parties. My favorite one is a green and blue squared shirt from Abercrombie & Fitch that I bought in New York, but almost all my shirts are from Pepe Jeans London, which is my favorite clothing brand.

5. Hoodie

I’ve got lots of hoodies and I wear them every single day! I think you must have at least two of these, but I got more than 10. My favorite one is the I NY hoodie that I, obviously, got in New York, but I love all of them!

4. Colored Shorts

Like I said before, I wear shorts all the time and I have them in many colors. My favorite ones are from Ralph Lauren and I got them in an Outlet Mall last time I went to Walt Disney World.

3. Ray Bans

I love Ray Bans, I got my Wayfarers in brown and in black and also as eyeglasses, but my favorite ones and the ones I wear the most are vintage Ray Bans that were from my father and I don’t even know the model, but I love them!

2. Comic T-Shirt

I’ve got lots of different T-Shirts, but most of them have comic book characters on them! My favorite one is the one in the picture and it has Michael Turner‘s cover for Marvel’s Civil War #1. I got it at Universal Studios in Orlando and I love it!

Beside my comic T-Shirts I also love my Britney Spears one!

1. Converse All Star

These are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever had! I’ve been wearing them since I was a kid and I have them in many colors. I wear them almost every day and I think the most broken they are the better they look!

Top 10 Female Comic Book Heroes

As you can see I love making up lists of anything and if you get to know me you’d see I’m a little obsessed with listing everything. I love reading comic books and I wanted to make my first post on the comics section with a list of my favorite female comic book heroes.

Keep in mind this is based on my personal taste only and we might disagree in some of them. For this list I only used heroes and not villains so don’t freak out if you don’t see Catwoman or Mystique on this list!! I’m planning a female villains list for another post.

Also I’m only using characters originally created for the comic book industry, so no Lara Croft or Buffy here!

So here are my favorite female heroes:

10.Storm (X-Men)

I’d like to start this list with Storm, because she’s one of my favorite X-Men. She’s got great powers and she’s a kick-ass woman. I also like her movie version, I think Halle Berry really did justice to her.

9. Supergirl

The Supergirl saga from Superman/Batman by Michael Turner is one of my favorite stories of the DC Universe. I like that they recreated her origins for a new and younger fan base and I really loved the result.

8. Kiani (Fathom)

As you can imagine I love Michael Turner, he’s my favorite comic book artist and I miss him so much. He created this amazing underwater world for his Fathom series and Kiani is one of my favorite characters. She’s a badass underwater creature that you should’t mess around with.

7. Abbey Chase (Danger Girl)

Another of my favorite comic book artist is J. Scott Campbell and I love Danger Girl! I love all the characters of this amazing story, but Abbey is just the best. I love her sultry attitude and her looks, plus she’s got a good sense of humor! What else could you ask for?

6. Rogue (X-Men)

Ok, Rogue has always been my favorite girl from X-Men, specially in the 90s cartoon TV show! But they really messed up in the movies!! C’mon, I don’t have anything against Anna Paquin, but I just didn’t like the way she was portrayed in the movie franchise.

5. Sara Pezzini (Witchblade)

Another Michael Turner creation and what an amazing woman Sara Pezzini is!! Although I stopped reading the series a few years ago, I’ve always loved Witchblade. It wasn’t only the story or the amazing art by Turner and others after him, this series just got something special and I love it!

4. Wonder Woman

Who doesn’t love Wonder Woman? She’s the supreme leader of the amazons and is the most important female character in the DC Universe. She has great powers, strength a magic bow and an invisible plane!! She just rocks!

3. Jean Grey/Phoenix  (X-Men)

Since the disappointment with Rogue after the X-Men movies, I had to choose a new favorite girl from the team! I didn’t only choose one, I chose two! The second one is Jean Grey. I love her as a normal mutant with her telekinetic powers, but I love her even more when she becomes the Phoenix, especially Dark Phoenix, she’s just the most powerful creature in the whole Universe. Impressive!

2. Emma Frost (X-Men)

Well, and here is my ultimate favorite X-Men girl! I love Emma Frost! The White Queen! She’s got some amazing telepathic powers and she can change her skin into diamond. She’s just awesome! I also love her sultry personality and her sense of fashion. She’s just perfect!

1. Aspen Matthews (Fathom)

And of course my number 1 comic book female character has to be Aspen Matthews!! She’s a kick-ass marine biologist who discovers that she comes from an underwater species and has the ability to manipulate water. She almost causes the end of the human race, but she ended up saving us! She’s just amazing! Thanks Michael Turner for creating characters and stories like this, I miss you! RIP

Again this is my personal opinion and you can tell me if you agree or not in the comments!! You can also suggest other list to make in the future!!

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy!!
