Aaliyah: The Princess Of R&B Review

Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B

I’ve been waiting for this movie for a long time and I have to say I’m a little bit disappointed. I’m not surprised though. It’s just a pretty mediocre TV movie and Aaliyah deserves much more than this. Her family wasn’t on board with this project and that was a huge turn off for me, I wanted to respect their will but at the same time I wanted to know a little bit more about her.

I’ve said this before, I love Aaliyah and she’s one of my favorite singers ever, but she wasn’t as huge in Spain as she was in the US and the rest of the world, so I didn’t really knew her until she died. I don’t know to what extent this movie is true but that’s the main reason I watched, to get to know her a little bit more.  Continue reading

Top 10 Animated Movies

Spirited Away

A few days ago I told you how much I love horror movies and that it’s one of my favorite movie genres, but my true favorite movies are the animated movies! I was thinking about my favorite animated movies and it was very difficult to choose only ten to do a Top 10, but I did my best to put some of what I consider the best animated movies there are and put them on this list.

I’ve always preferred traditional animation and I don’t like that it’s being forgotten nowadays. There’re not many new traditional movies today, everything is on 3D and CGI, which is great too, but I just prefer traditional, I find it more special, maybe because I love drawing and hope to become a good illustrator.  Continue reading

Top 10 Horror Movies

Drew Barrymore - Scream

I really like Halloween, but I don’t get why people celebrate it here in Spain. It’s not a Spanish tradition, it’s just an excuse to get drunk and dress up. In Canary Islands we already have Carnaval to do that and to be honest it’s one of the best festivities we have!!

Like I said I really like Halloween and I like watching all the decorations in movies and TV shows, the costumes that celebrities wear and all that stuff, I like to watch it as an outsider and not celebrating it because it’s not part of my culture. So, unlike many others I prefer staying at home and watch horror movies.  Continue reading

Top 10 Horror Movie Deaths

Drew Barrymore - Scream

Yesterday I read an article about the most memorable deaths in Quentin Tarantino movies online. I really liked it and it inspired me to do this list of horror movie iconic deaths in perfect timing for Halloween. I chose the scenes that are most memorable from some of the most iconic horror movies of all time as well as some deaths that really shocked me from some less known or underrated movies.

I decided to choose only one death per movie or franchise, otherwise Final Destination would take all spots on the list, haha. Some of these horror movies were really bad, but I think that’s a positive thing for me, I really like bad horror movies, they’re very very entertaining.  Continue reading

Top 10 Readheads in Hollywood

Jessica Rabbit

I personally think readheads are the most beautiful women on Earth and there’re plenty of beautiful and talented actresses in Hollywood so this list was particularly difficult to make. It’s been a long time since I made my last Top 10, but I’ve been very busy keeping up with my classes after my trip to New York!

I decided to choose only natural born redheads or actresses who have become famous because of her red hair and not actresses who have dyed their hair for a movie like Scarlett Johansson for Avengers or Kirsten Dunst for Spider-Man. So, here’re my Top 10 Redheads in Hollywood!!  Continue reading

Avengers Age Of Ultron

Last night Marvel released the first teaser for Avengers: Age Of Ultron and it’s epic!!! The first Avengers movie is one of the best superhero films ever and knowing Marvel’s tendency to surpass themselves in each movie, this one is going to be incredible!!

The movie doesn’t come out until May,but I hope this new teaser means we’ll be well entertained and informed with new trailers, pictures and details from the movie from now on!! Check out the teaser below!  Continue reading

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) Review

TMNT

This Friday was finally the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles premiere in Spain. I’ve been waiting a long time to see this movie, not because the TMNT, but because of Megan Fox. I loved the Turtles as a kid, but the previews movies weren’t very good, so I didn’t expect much from this one either.

I think it was good that I had that mentality, because the movie blew me away!! Of course it wasn’t a deep Oscar worthy movie, but I really really enjoyed it!! I grew up in the 90’s and I loved the TMNT cartoons and this movie really made me feel like a kid again.  Continue reading

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For Review

Sin City - A Dame To Kill For

I finally got to watch Sin City: A Dame To Kill For. First of all I want to say that I’ve been 8 years waiting for this movie and I am so mad that it wasn’t released to Spanish cinemas. They are saying it’s because it flopped in the USA box office, but I think there’s more than that. It can’t be a coincidence that the last three movies Robert Rodriguez has done, Spy Kids 4, Machete Kills and now this one, didn’t make it to the cinemas here. If that was the case, many movies wouldn’t have come to Spain, not only this one. I think there’s something happening, but nobody seems to care as much as I do.

Anyways, going back to the film, I have to say that I really enjoyed it! I waited until I found a medium quality link to watch it online, because I refuse to wait until the DVD or Blu Ray comes next year, I think I’ve waited enough time!!  Continue reading

What If Review

What If

I can’t believe I forgot to do this review! I went to see this movie a couple weekends ago and I loved it!! It’s one of my favorite romantic comedies of all time! I came back from the cinema very late and went straight to sleep and then I forgot about the review, but here it is!!

I loved the movie because it’s not the typical romantic comedy where a gorgeous girl who works in a fashion magazine falls in love with a handsome business man and then he does something stupid and they fight and then make up and spend the rest of their lives together.  Continue reading

The Purge: Anarchy Review

The Purge: Anarchy

I just watched The Purge: Anarchy and I have some mixed feeling about it. I really liked the first movie, but there was something missing on it. I think the idea of this movies is excellent and has a lot of potential. In this one they exploited that potential a little bit more and gave more depth to the plot and we finally get to see what happens to regular people and not only the rich ones.

I love that we get to see the differences between social classes and how they spend the Purge. I also liked how they reflect today’s society in this alternative universe and how these new Founders of the USA use this supposedly “purifying” night to their own benefit getting rid of the poor people.  Continue reading

Top 10 Disney Infinity – Wish List

Disney Infinity

So, Disney Infinity 2.0 is almost here and I’m getting very excited with all the new features. I have to admit that I was a little bit disappointed with the first one, I loved playing the playsets, well, I only played Pirates Of The Caribbean, Monsters University, The Incredibles and Toy Story, but I really enjoyed them.

I also liked all the figures they released in the first game, but I didn’t like much the Toy Box. I consider myself a very creative person and I still found it very difficult to come up with something really cool. I liked some of the other users’ downloadable Toy Boxes, but it didn’t felt like I was playing a video game, most of them were just to explore and there wasn’t anything challenging at all.  Continue reading

Guardians Of The Galaxy Review

Guardians Of The Galaxy

I just came back from the cinema. I finally went to see Marvel‘s Guardians Of The Galaxy and I have to say that I’m a little disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, the movie was good, but I was told it was way better than Avengers and I’m sorry but it isn’t. This movie isn’t by far in my Top 5 Marvel movies, not even counting the Marvel Cinematic Universe only.

Again, it’s a good entertaining movie and it’s very funny too, but there’re moments that the jokes are too forced (I don’t know if this expression exists in English, but I’m going to use it anyway, haha) and sometimes the characters are a little predictable.  Continue reading

Begin Again (Movie) Review

Begin Again

I went to watch Begin Again today to the cinema and I have to say I’m really surprised. I wanted to see it since I saw the trailer a few weeks ago and Keira Knightley is always a good excuse to watch a movie, but I have to say I loved it more than I thought.

The movie was really really good. The beginning was a little confusing because they mixed some future and past scenes, but when it starts to take form it’s very impressive. Everyone was great, Keira, Mark Ruffalo and Adam Levine. I even liked Hailee Steinfeld, I’ve never been a big fan of her, and I loved Cathernie Keener, I was very happy to see she was on the movie. Continue reading

Top 10 Robin Williams Performances

Robin Williams

This is such a tragic day, the world has lost a very talented and amazing human. I’ve loved Robin Williams almost since I was born. He was one of my childhood heroes, I haven’t seen all of his movies and I haven’t seen his best performances, but I’ll always remember him for movies that made me laugh and made me love this great actor.

I think many of my favorite movies as a child were Robin Williams movies and this tribute list to him is not about his best performances in terms of good acting, but as the great entertainer he was. He touched the souls of many kids from my generation and probably he will continue to do it to kids from newer generations. Continue reading

Sharknado 2: The Second One Review

Sharknado 2

I just watched Sharknado 2: The Second One! I had been waiting for this movie for a long time, but when it finally came out July 31st I completely forgot. Thanks Shark Week for reminding me of the movie and making me watch it instantly!!

I was very disappointed with the first one because I don’t know why but I was expecting a “good” shark movie like Deep Blue Sea or something similar to Piranha 3D. Of course it was just another shark B movie and I love watching them, but I have to admit they’re all really bad. Continue reading

Top 10 Comics that need a Movie + Actors who should star in them

Soulfire - Michael Turner

There are lots of great comic books that haven’t been adapted into movies yet that I would really like to see in the big screen. Now the superheroes are the biggest Hollywood money makers, but there’re a bunch of indie comics that are awesome too and of course some superheroes that haven’t been on screen yet.

I love strong, powerful and fearless women, those are my favorite characters and I love when they are leading characters in comic books. I also love when superheroes are funny and have a good personality like Spider-ManContinue reading

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For – New Trailer

Jessica Alba - Sin City 2

I’ve been wanting to post this since yesterday, but I haven’t have time. Anyway, a new trailer of Sin City: A Dame To Kill For has been released and it’s awesome!!!

I can’t wait until August 22, I need to see it now!!! It doesn’t have a Spanish release date yet and I’m gonna die if they don’t release it here, they did that with Machete Kills and I almost died!!! Continue reading

Sex Tape (Movie) – Review

Sex Tape - Movie

It’s been a long time since I last laughed so hard at the cinema!!! Seriously, I couldn’t stop laughing through the whole movie. Of course this is not an Oscar movie and I hate people that say these kind of films are bad. I understand everyone is entitled to their opinion, but you have to judge movies in their context and compare them with movies from the same genre.

I don’t like The Lord Of The Rings (please don’t kill me!!!) and I don’t say it’s a bad movie, or that is the worse movie I’ve seen like people have told me about Sex Tape. I know it’s a good movie, but it’s not of my taste. Continue reading
