Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 3 Announcement

Avengers: Age Of Ultron - Concept Art

The second phase of Marvel‘s Cinematic Universe will come to an end next year when Avengers: Age Of Ultron hits cinemas on May 1st, but the company has just announced which projects will be part of phase three and a few details about some of them.

They announced eight new project release dates and their title artwork that will form phase three of the Cinematic Universe along with the already announced Ant-Man starring Paul Rudd and released on July 17th of 2015. Here’re all the new movies info in chronological order!

Captain America: Civil War

The third installment of Captain America will be focused on one of Marvel’s history biggest events Civil War and it’s coming to theaters on May 6th, 2016. I personally think this saga was too important to just do one movie about it, especially since it involves every single Marvel superhero and not only the Cap. Apparently Iron Man will make an appearance on the movie opposite to Steve Rogers and though it hasn’t been confirmed, I guess Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his famous role.

One of the reasons they’re toning down this story is that they don’t have all the live-action rights to many of the characters involved like Spider-Man or the X-Men. Because of this the conflict won’t be as huge as in the comics, most of the MCU characters don’t have secret identity.

Doctor Strange

The very anticipated Doctor Strange movie will hit cinemas on November 4th that same year and though a confirmation haven’t been stablished, Benedict Cumberbutch is reported to be in talks to play the lead.

Guardians Of The Galaxy 2

Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 release date has been moved up to May 5th, 2017. I wasn’t very impressed with the first one, but I’ll be checking this one for sure just because of the music, I want to see which songs they pick for the new soundtrack!!

Thor: Ragnarok

The third Thor movie will be released on July 28 that same year and all we know for now is that Loki is coming back!!! I really loved the second movie and I hope this one will be as good or better. There’re no further details about the project yet.

Black Panther

This is a fan favorite that is finally going to the big screen on November 3rd also in 2017. Chadwick Boseman, check him out because I really don’t know who he is, will play the Black Panther and he will also appear in the Captain America movie as a guest character.

Captain Marvel

The following year a Captain Marvel movie focused on Carol Danvers will be released on July 6th, but no actress has been cast yet. I have never read anything about her, I only know that she was Ms. Marvel before turning to Captain Marvel. Fortunately, I have three years to catch up with her story!!

Avengers: Infinity War Part I & II

The Avengers will have two continued new movies on this phase of the MCU and they will be released on May 4th, 2018 and May 3rd, 2019 respectively. Apparently the second movie will conclude all MCU has built since it started, don’t worry that doesn’t mean they won’t come up with new movies and ideas after this third phase ends, and Thanos will be the main enemy, remember him from Guardians Of The Galaxy.

So far we’ve seen only three Infinity Stones: the Tesseract (Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, Avengers), the Aether (Thor: The Dark World) and the Power Orb (Guardians Of The Galaxy), the three remaining stones will probably be introduced through this new MCU phase so Thanos can collect them all in the Infinity War movies and put them in the Gauntlet and have limitless power. This will be based on the 1991 The Infinity Gauntlet comic saga.

This movies will probably include some alliances between the Avengers and other teams of superheroes like Guardians Of The Galaxy and some of the new heroes like Black Panther or Captain Marvel.

Last but not least, there will be an Inhumans movie released on November 2nd, 2018, right between the two Avengers movies. I haven’t read anything about this team of heroes either, but I will!! I want to get to know this team before watching the movie, thank God there’s plenty of time!

So, what do you think about all this new information? Are you excited?? I can’t wait to see how all this universe that Marvel has created comes to an end and what will they do after that!!
